For determination of fuel consumption since 1996 the instruction of 80/1268/EWG with the last change of 1999/100/EG works.
The instruction considers real conditions of traffic: driving in the city is estimated with coefficient about 1/3, and driving outside the city – with coefficient about 2/3 (fuel consumption in the city and in the country). At the same time cold starts and phases of acceleration are considered.
Besides, a component of the instruction is the indication of issue of CO2.
From the provided data it is impossible to draw a conclusion about that how many fuels are consumed by each concrete car.
When determining fuel consumption according to the standard 1999/100/EG own mass of the car established also according to this standard is considered. The additional special equipment of the car can increase a little weight and, together with it, consumption of fuel and issue of CO2.
Type, properties and volumes of working liquids
Use of ethylated gasoline and abuse of additives to fuel can lead to failure of the catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases, to discrepancy to requirements of toxicity of an exhaust and breakage of the engine. On diesel models do not use the additives for winter operation increasing fuel fluidity at all. At failure to follow these requirements in case of an engine exit out of operation guarantee certificates of manufacturer for this car do not extend.
The recommended fuel
Apply unleaded gasoline with octane number not less than 95 (by a research method).
Apply diesel fuel with cetane number not less than 50.
Depending on temperature of air operate the car on diesel fuel of a summer or winter grade.
– At a temperature above -7 °C – a summer grade of fuel
– At a temperature below -7 °C – a winter grade of fuel
It is forbidden to fuel the car liquid, intended for house coppers of heating, gasoline and any combustible liquids, except diesel fuel. When using improper fuel the engine will sustain serious damage.
It is not necessary to fuel the car diesel a summer grade if temperature of air is below -7 °C. When cooling in summer fuel paraffin crystals which hammer the fuel filter intensively drop out. At the same time the engine can stop or work with interruptions.
In the absence of unleaded fuel of a grade "super" it is possible to use fuel with octane number 91, avoiding high loads of the engine and full load of the car, and also driving in mountains with the trailer or with high loading – at the same time the power and torque of the engine decrease. The detonation regulator depending on a grade of the filled fuel (its octane number) automatically customizes system of ignition.
The engines adjusted at manufacturer for work on gasoline with AI-95 octane number can be operated without restrictions and on AI-98 gasoline, however it will not lead to increase in profitability or improvement of operational properties of the car.
Recommendations about the choice of viscosity of engine oil (petrol engines)
It is recommended to use engine oil with viscosity 5W-30, in the absence of such oil be guided by the provided scheme taking into account the prevailing air temperatures.
Coolant of the air conditioning system
Fill the air conditioning system on the car with HFC-134a coolant (R-134a) or the similar operational material completely equivalent specified on the properties. Use of other coolant will lead to serious damages of the air conditioning system and need of full replacement of system.
It is not recommended to produce coolant in the atmosphere. The HFC-134a coolant (R-134a) applied in cars does not make harmful effects on an ozone layer of the atmosphere. Nevertheless, hit in the atmosphere of coolant can promote in small degree to global warming of climate.
Type of cooling liquid
It is necessary to use only the red (dark orange), not containing silicates antifreeze recommended for application by Opel with number 19 40 650/09 194 431 on a label. At long operation color of antifreeze can gain yellow color. It does not influence properties of cooling liquid therefore it can be used to next planned THAT.
It is forbidden to use in the cooling system antifreezes/antifreezes of green-blue color, with the content of silicate. Addition of any additives to antifreeze is not recommended (including for sealing of system and elimination of small leaks).
Cover of the fuel tank
When replacing a cover of the fuel tank it is necessary to establish only a company cover released the Opel company for this model as only it provides full functionality. On cars with diesel engines the special cover of the fuel tank is established.
